DIFFERENTIAL WORK

  • We tear down the complete differential including knocking out the bearing races.

  • We pressure wash the "out of vehicle" differentials and wash the inside of the "in vehicle" diffs.

  • We use bearing pullers that wont cause damage to any part. In the "Old Days" we cut the bearings off.

  • We press all bearings with correct tools so that we don't damage the bearing cage.

  • We check all Differential housings for straightness. Not by looking down the tubes, but using alignment bars.

  • We check all U-Joints and their operating angles.

To Shim or not to Shim.

We will not give up on getting a correct tooth pattern. We will change shims as many times as neccessary to get that

perfect pattern. A lot of mechanics will get it close because of time spent. In our shop, close isn't good enough.

TRANSFER CASES

  • We always shift the unit before we tear down.

  • We always check for end play and bearing roughness.

  • We don't build by the book. We build to last and to work best.

  • We have a great supply of syncros, bearings, gears, clutches and chains.
