MY BACKGROUND:

I was born in Phoenix, AZ in 1952. I started working with all the "Old School" mechanics. The most important lesson I learned was never take anything apart until you positively know what the problem is.  First, ask lots of questions.  Second, test drive.  Third, look at the oil, smell the oil and sometimes taste the oil.

For many years, I owned and operated the largest Differential Shop in the west called Gear Train Enterprises, Inc.  What made us the best was "WE DON'T BUILD BY THE BOOK" and "WE BUILD TO LAST".  That has always been my motto and has proven to be the best way do business. Before I specialized in differentials, I built Allison Transmissions for the large dump trucks at the Copper Mines of AZ. After that, I was building 10, 13 and 15 speed transmissions and single and double reduction differentials for semi's.

Because of my reputation in the differential industry, I sat on many advisory boards such as Phoenix Better Business Bureau, the Phoenix Police "Race a Cop" program and the school I attended early in life, UTI. I was also an expert witness for Quaker State and Minute Lube. I enjoyed sponsoring many car shows, drag races, mud bogs, desert races. I also had the privilege to be on the pit crew in NASCAR, NHRA, Off-Road Races, etc.

SETTING UP SHOP in Colorado Springs

I moved to Colorado Springs in Sept. of 2013. I leased a shop from T-Bone Construction. Mike Thibault, Pres. of T-bone has been very supportive and helpful. Over the past year, I've bought and built the tools I needed so that there is nothing I can't do when it comes to differentials. I love being a "Gear Head again"! I built all of my own equipment such a Bearing Press, Housing and Axle Straightening Machine, Cut-off Table for housings and axles and the Alignment Tools for welding up Differentials.

I have been rebuilding Differentials in the vehicles on jack stands and in the process for obtaining a two-post lift. Working on my back for 40 years have kept me in shape.  I first try to purchase all my new parts in Colorado Springs and  then online. Soon, I will be stocking Bearing Kits, Ring and Pinion Sets, Posi and Std carriers and so on.
